Everyone meet Willow aka the perfect canine companion! Are you looking for an exceptional four-pawed friend? This lady is loyal, loving, and is the world's best companion and just a gem.
If Willow were a human she would be a counselor in a women's only retreat program at a Costa Rican surf resort where she can be a shoulder to lean on for ladies having a hard time but also surf in her free time to burn off some energy. She will stand by your side through thick and thin #RideOrDie101 with her steadfast loyalty. In her relaxation time, she might just be the cuddliest dog to have ever existed, she will make sure you are warm and know she loves you by being as physically close as possible. Low maintenance is the name of the game, simple hikes or walks around the neighborhood are enough for Willow.
Willow loves car rides and is very accepting of her safety harness that keeps her buckled in. She was very nervous at the vet’s office during her visit but allowed an exam. She is indifferent to loud noises. When new people approach her like she is a super friendly dog and crouch down to her level it freaks her out, so some human conditioning for your non-dog savvy friend will be in order. She prefers to be ignored and will approach new people when she is ready. When tested with kids she was extremely fearful and uneasy around them, so she requires a child-free home. She does love other dogs and plays all the time with her foster GSD/Mal mix and gets along with their older 12-pound Silkie Terrier as well. She has not been tested with cats, other small animals, or livestock.
During her time in foster, she has mastered Sit, Down, Off, Not a Toy (something needs to be dropped from mouth), and not jumping on people. She is still working on the Stay, Come, and Wait commands. Willow is not destructive in the house or the yard. #NoDigginHere Some mornings she can be kind of a lazy bum when coming out of her crate, “just 5 more minutes Mom” is Willow almost every day. She has been known to give the counter a good surfing if given the opportunity, so that is a naughty habit that will need to get conquered at some point unless you don’t mind leftovers being snatched up!
Willow is looking for a calm and peaceful home that is free from chaos and stress. She loves playing with her foster sibling dog so a sibling dog or two in the home would be awesome for her to have. While Willow loves her crate, she would be much happier if she could just sleep on your bed with you, and chill on the couch as well. She warms up quicker to women than men, but it is a slow process to build trust regardless of the person. If you don’t have any kids in your home #NOKIDS and are looking for a new speed, low drag companion in your life, then look no further than Willow.
Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview. If that goes well, we will arrange for a home visit.
Adoption Donation: $500.00
Transport along Interstate 5 (Rowland Heights, CA to Edmonds, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.
For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
