Teagan
Teagan is a tiny, incredibly sweet 3-year-old girl weighing just 41 pounds. She came into the shelter as a stray at the end of February, and despite everything she’s been through, she’s nothing but love.
A couple of weeks later, staff noticed she was favoring her left rear leg. She was still weight-bearing and allowed full handling, but something wasn’t right. With no resources for diagnostics, she was given a medical deadline… and we couldn’t let her story end there.
Once we took her in, she went straight to the vet. X-rays revealed an old, untreated fracture in her left femur that healed incorrectly. Even now, she tries so hard to keep up, but it’s slowing her down and will only get worse with time.
Her amputation surgery is scheduled for April 13 and she'd love a medical foster to help her recover.
Teagan is dog neutral to social, has moderate energy, low drive, and is incredibly affectionate, she just wants to be close to her people (and maybe cuddle up with a dog friend or two 💕).
