Cuervo walks into walls every so often so living in a two story house could be dangerous as he likes to move pretty fast and could walk right off and fall down the stairs. I believe he is housebroken. He peed by the back door when I didn't follow him as he went through the house once but every evening we do one-on-one on the sofa and he'll walk to the back door and stand there if he needs to go out. His personality is really coming out. In the play area I'll run backwards and call to him so he can run toward me. He has learned to follow me as I make kissing noise. He'll also listen if I tell him he's about to run in to something and veer off. He's getting along better with my dogs and walks loose through the house, pausing to sniff them when going to and from the crate. He's usually quiet all night in his crate and doesn't howl anymore when outside either in his kennel or the play area. He loves up on my husband, leaning on him and mouthing his hand. Pretty nice dog.

California
Male, neutered
5.5yrs
65#, obese
Been in the shelter since 7/2017.
Needs work on impulse control around other dogs. Poorly socialized. He is a bit reactive at first with some dogs but is then able to show appropriate behavior. Others, he is reactive and remans inappropriate. Needs slow and controlled intros. HIGH prey drive. No toy drive.
Very food motivated, no resource guarding of food/toys. May be possessive of his handler.
Had been adopted twice in 2020 (8/20, 9/17) He is house trained, not destructive, and behaved well. One household had a toddler, and Adonis was behind a baby gate when the toddler was out. Adonis did fine with the baby and with people coming into the house. He was friendly and appropriate. Both adopters returned him because of his behavior outside of the home with people walking by or riding by on a bike.
Needs work on socialization, impulse control, and handling his energy, excitement, and frustration in better ways. Adonis does have a nice sit, pretty good recall, and is attentive to a human

Zing
Male, neutered
6.5yrs
Hs original owner passed away and had him since he was a puppy. The owners family knew the dog his whole life so attempted to take him in. He was not a good fit to have with kids and does have a bite on record. (Kid leaned over him when he was laying on the couch, unsure the details) NO CHILDREN
Needs a calm and predictable home to decompress again after another major loss in his life. He is a nice, social dog that needs boundaries/structure/low level of chaos

Will bark and lunge when in his kennel and other dogs walk by. Prefers non-dominant low-drive males, or a calm, social female.
No guarding for toys, likes to play 2 ball fetch and tug.
Takes food nicely. Gives up toys for food very easily. But didn't guard the food bag. Friendly with people.
