Woof Project Foster or Adopt Criteria

(The application is the same for adopting or fostering)

Woof Project concentrates our efforts to place Malinois with the highest probability of success. Through experience we have found that placement of dogs is best when homes:

1. **Have previous or current, purebred Malinois experience OR other high drive working breed experience.**
2. Have no children under the age of 12 years old or have extensive experience with children and high drive dogs.
3. Have a primary handler that is gone less than 5 hours a day and/or a solid lifestyle commitment for after work and weekends.
4. Have secure and adequate fencing or a plan to manage a dog without fencing.

5. Have been or are actively involved in formal training and daily activities suitable to keep an active Malinois mentally and physically stimulated.
6. Are within our area of operation (California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Montana, Arizona, Alaska, and some parts of Canada.)

  • The above is suggested criteria for Malinois only. If you do not meet every suggestion that is ok.

  • The application is geared towards Malinois. If you are applying for a different breed, put NA for the Malinois specific questions

  • If you are unable to submit the application below, please CLICK HERE

We do our utmost to provide honest and thorough information regarding each dog’s history, health and behavior. However, the nature of rescue is that we may not always know everything. Therefore, health and behavioral changes may develop in response to stress, environment change, lack of physical and/or mental stimulation, lack of structure, or lack of leadership from adopters. The potential of these can be higher with working breed dogs as they often require more time, exercise and guidance than non-working breed dogs. Should health or behavioral issues arise after the dog is adopted, the adopter agrees to seek the appropriate treatment or support at their own expense.
