ABOUT WALKER

Age: 3 years

Gender: Male

Weight: 75lbs

Energy Level: Low-Moderate

Overall Drive: Moderate

Location: Anaconda, MT

Walker is a very curious and energetic boy but will match his energy level to that of his person depending on the task at hand. He aims to please and is always trying to improve whether that is trying to impress his handler or remembering right from wrong. While Walker is very loyal and loves his person, he is also social with new people when properly introduced.

Need a hug? Just ask! Walker is very affectionate and if you ask him for a hug, he will wrap his paws around you and lean his head into your chest. This big cuddle bug is always happy to sleep or nap with you. He will even lay down when asked and wait for you to give him a belly rub. Walker is somewhat protective and will alert of anything mysterious around the house.

Walker rides well in the car, is good at the vet’s office (prefers to have his person with him for support), and unphased by loud noises. He does very well with all sizes of dogs when introduced properly. He has not been around children and due to his size and exuberance, is best with older kids. His basic skills have been mastered, he’s crate trained, potty trained, and works well for praise and food rewards. Only light correction is needed, and he tends to remember the rules quite fast.

Walker’s ideal home would be with someone who can spend a lot of time with him and include him in as many car rides, walks, hikes, and runs as possible. He loves to be with his person and will do whatever he can to please. His person should enjoy the outdoors as hiking in the mountains is his favorite activity.

Must have previous or current, purebred Malinois experience OR other high drive working breed experience. Have no children under the age of 12 years old OR have extensive experience with children and high drive dogs.

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview. If that goes well, we will arrange for a home visit.

Adoption Donation: $500.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Bakersfield, CA to Bellingham, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
