Garnet is a lover of all people and this mature lady wants nothing more than to sit next to someone for the rest of her golden years.  She loves all the pets, especially muzzle scratches and that special spot right behind the ears.  There is no age or gender preference for Garnet, she is happy to be around children and adults.

If Garnet was human and one of our awesome human jobs (yawn), her foster thinks that she would make an amazing nurse as she always is checking in with you to make sure you are doing okay.  She might even be capable of being an emotional support animal or a dog to take to visit people who are sick in the hospital.  There is not a single fiber of mean in her body.  Garnet can be picked up, kissed on the nose, and hugged this golden girl could care less as long as she is around her person or people.  #IfBettyWhiteWasADog

Garnet is not a huge fan of car rides when getting in initially, as it takes her about 30 minutes to settle in, but after that, she enjoys a good nap while you do the driving.  During her trip to the vet’s office, everyone loved her, and she gave tons of kisses. Loud noises do not seem to bother her as recently there was a thunderstorm that passed over her foster's house and she didn’t mind it.  The only thing that Garnet is not a fan of is cats! Her foster is working on attempting to condition her to be more neutral around them.  #TeachAnOldDogNewTricks  At her foster home, she showed no interest in the horses or cows on the property. She ignores the other dogs in the home but will growl at them if she is kenneled and they are free.

Other than her person making her over the moon happy, she does enjoy going on leisurely strolls through her foster's garden area and roaming the two fenced acres with her foster.  She does not take much correction if she does something you don’t like, a simple “no” suffices.  Also, she is house-trained and will go in her crate but will do anything possible to get out if she knows you are still home.  She has no issues being in her outside kennel or just being outside.  Her number one reward is praise, followed quickly by squeaky toys!

Garnet is the perfect twilight lady!  She is fine with little kids running around and riding toys on the wood floors, she is just happy to be in the same room with them.  While she is not a high-energy girl, she will happily roam around with you and go on short hikes if you want.  Her forever home could have kids, adults, elderly folks, other dogs, just no cats (as of now).  #CatsAreFriendsNotFood  If you are interested in giving Garnet a soft spot to land for the rest of her golden years, please apply!

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview.

Adoption Donation: $500.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Stevenson Ranch, CA to Edmonds, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
