TESSA

~DOB: 3/1/2021

Weight: 50 lbs

Energy Level: Moderate

Overall Drive: Moderate

Location: Seattle, WA

When your foster describes you as a sweetheart to the core, what else is better in life?  Well for Tessa it could be winning the gold medal in the “speed chaser of all things” sport at the Olympics!   She loves treats and bones, is a world-class snuggler, isn’t a big fan of balls, and  she is more of a quiet type, close to perfect gal.

If Tessa had a human job, she would certainly be on the Forbes 500 list as a happiness counselor since her main goal in life is to make sure everyone is taken care of and having a good time.  Tessa can come off as a little shy or standoffish in the beginning but once you have earned her trust, she will be your ride-or-die BFF.   Did we mention that she is FAST?  Yes, you read that correctly she is a quick one.  It seems that everything is a race for Tessa.  #RickyBobbyOfTheBackYard  She also loves playing with other dogs, if she could wrestle her foster sibling 24/7, she would in a heartbeat!

Tessa rides well in the car but will sometimes bark at people passing close or will air snap at some cars whirling past. Keeping her crated and correcting these behaviors consistently should help her learn to make better choices each car ride she goes on. She is well-mannered at the vet’s office and loud noises do not seem to faze her at all.  It took about a week for her to warm up to  her foster family, but as with all newly introduced dogs, one needs to follow the 3-day, 3-week, 3-month rule.

During Tessa’s time in foster, she has mastered the Sit and Come commands and is working to become proficient in more skills. Tessa is curious so she has been known to check out the trash can and puts things in her mouth like shoes, socks, and other objects.  She just packs them around like a prize and has never showed any thoughts of wanting to destroy them.

Tessa is looking for an active person or family which could be a busy house as she is not bothered by the hustle and bustle at all. She would really enjoy living with another dog to assist in burning off all of her WWE energy that she stores up while sleeping in her crate overnight. So,  if you are looking for a hiking, running, all-around solid dog look no further than Tessa!
