Zada is an absolute sweetheart as defined by Merriam-Webster.  She is friendly, sociable, and nice with a little bit of spice which comes with the Malinois territory.  Everyone she has met loves her and she loves them right back, her social skills are near top notch, and she is very much a “people pleaser” type of Malinois.

If Zada had a human job, she would be an ultra-marathoner or adventure racer.  She is the type of friend that gets up at 5 am while on vacation to run a pre-breakfast marathon.  Aside from being extremely friendly, she loves her human almost more than any other possession on earth.  Zada is very much a social butterfly that wants to be included in everything that you are doing.  Zada has no issues going into her crate or waiting to come out of her crate, just isn’t much of a fan of it if she knows you are still around and will vocalize her displeasure. Her foster has slowly been able to move around the house, but this is a work in progress. Continued work is needed to ensure any issues with being crated alone won’t manifest into a deeper separation anxiety. Bedding stands no chance in her crate as she will schedule an unscheduled disassembly of anything left in her crate.

Zada is great on car rides and will usually lie down and sleep.  #WorldWorstNavigator  At the vet’s office she was shy but warmed up quickly.  Some loud noises don’t phase her, but loud speeding cars and the intensity and rapid succession of some fireworks over the 4th of July were just too much for her to take and process, #ImStraightUpNotHavingAGoodTimeBro  Due to her incredibly friendly nature, Zada will not be a good option for home protection and would rather give an intruder a guided tour. Her high prey drive will require a home free of cats and other small animals.

During Zada’s time in her foster home she has mastered Sit/Sitz, Down/Platz, Place, Off (get off bed/place), Hop (jump up onto something), Stay (sit stay and down stay), Leave it, Drop, This Way (pay attention/follow me), Look (at me), Ok/Break (release word), Spin, Pretty (sit pretty), and the Kennel commands as well as loose leash walking, waiting at gates/doors and potty training.  Items in progress are the Recall, Heel, and Search (find scent) commands.  Zada thrives in a structured environment with clear boundaries and plenty of mental and physical stimulation; she is not a couch potato pup.  If she is bored it can lead to engagement seeking tendencies like stealing shoes, pillows, couch cushions, etc. not to destroy them but to get attention much like a toddler would.

There is an abundance of potential in Zada for sports such as agility, dock diving (she LOVES  water and swimming), obedience, tracking, scent work, and fast CAT.  The perfect forever home for Zada would be one that can exercise her mind and body enough daily, keeping her out of her boredom stage.  She is good with other dogs but might like being the center of attention #OnlyChildSyndrome as she has main character energy and best friend potential.  If you are up for the Zada challenge, please apply as the reward will be well worth it!
