Sunny is the life of the party everywhere she goes.  She loves everything on the dog spectrum like going on walks, snuggling on the couch, and everything in between.  Looking for a dog that does zoomies, loves car rides, and plays well with others (both humans and dogs), then look no further than Sunny!

Sunny’s foster said that if she were human and had a human job, she would be a spin class instructor, super perky after a level 3 class and not breathing hard while everyone else is wheezy and sweatin’.  #AlwaysUpForFun  She is the most affectionate girl, with all her bouncy, cuddly energy that makes her believe that she is a 53-pound lap dog.  #IFitsISits  This girl has never met a person that she isn’t head over heels in love with.  I guess the correct term would be “instant BFF’s”.  The foster said that her resident male dog is not usually a fan of foster dogs, but she has gotten him to play with her since her arrival which is always a good sign.  On her first visit to her foster’s office, she won over the hearts of all her fellow employees, even the new one who is extremely nervous around larger dogs.

She loves car rides, made all sorts of new friends at the vet’s office, and loud noises do not bother her as she often wants to investigate what made all the racket.  When playing with other dogs, we believe her dad was Tigger from Winnie the Pooh.  Sunny jumps around all the time while playing with other dogs, like she has springs in her legs.  #BoingBoingBoing  When doing training she is very praise and food motivated.  During her time in foster, she has mastered Sit, Wait, and Off.  Commands she is still working on are Down, Stay, and Leave It.  Due to her happy and inquisitive nature, she is very easy to train, and we expect those commands to be a breeze for her to learn before departing for her forever home.

During her training time, only a stern voice is needed for correction if she is going off course or is distracted.  One of the items she needs to work on is pulling while on the leash when meeting other dogs.  Sunny does need to be monitored while outside as she will dig in the backyard if she is bored.  During her time at her foster home, her counter-surfing has decreased but is not completely gone so a careful eye paired with boundaries and structure should help.  One of her favorite items to “steal” is the sponge from the sink, no idea why but she sure likes to take it.  Sunny does enjoy playing fetch and will happily engage as long as you like.

Sunny is an amazing girl that is looking for her forever home and hopes it’s you!  She will thrive in an active home that would take her on adventures, road trips, camping, running, and keep up with her training.  Another dog in the home would be great for her but isn’t required.  We think she could thrive in a home with kids as well since he is highly adaptable and enjoys being around everyone.  This girl has come a long way from being a stray dog running the streets of California, so if you have room in your house for the happiest dog in the world then please apply for Sunny!
