Rocket is a sweet, calm dog who is also affectionate, curious, shy at times, and protective. His favorite thing is to cuddle and be close to his person as often as possible. While he is still young and enjoys playing outside, he equally enjoys a good nap in the sun. Rocket is up for any adventure if his person is by his side, and you won’t find a more loyal companion.

When out and about, he likes to explore different stores, go walking through the park, and saying hi to new people. When new people come to the house, he is hesitant at first, especially if he has never met them before, but he warms up quickly. Rocket loves to spend time with kids and will happily lay with them in exchange for some belly rubs. Rocket does well with the other dogs in the home and enjoys playing. He has not lived with cats or livestock, but aside from initial curiosity when seeing them, he has left them alone.

Rocket is potty trained, crate trained, rides well in the car, and is well-mannered at the vets’ office. Loud noises from thunderstorms or the vacuum can startle him, and bath time is something he prefers to have no part of. He will dip his toes in the water but likes it to be his idea. Rocket has mastered his basic skills and is working hard to perfect more advanced tasks. He is motivated by food and toys, and only needs simple verbal correction. Rocket has been known to chew on a sock or two but is overall non-destructive and has nice house manners.

Rocket is looking for a moderately active home who can provide him with the loving, calm, and safe place he deserves. A home with few visitors may be best, and he would for sure enjoy other dog or human siblings to play and be goofy with. He loves to be outside and next to his person so if you in the market for a hiking, camping, and cuddling buddy, then Rocket is the go-along pup for you!
