Quaid has an easy-going, soulful way about him. This big guy is sweet, affectionate, and has nice handler engagement. He has been friendly when meeting new people and will make you laugh with his goofball, belly-rub-seeking personality. If Quaid were a human, he would be a talented builder that likes his free time too. He is muscular, smart, resourceful and likes to do things, but also enjoys a nice long nap.

Quaid does well with other neutral dogs and remains levelheaded. He has not been exposed to cats, children or livestock, but since movement is stimulating to him a home free of those temptations would be ideal. He is crate trained, potty trained, rides well crated in the car, and is unfazed by loud noises. Quaid’s biggest motivators are physical touch, his ball, and food and he is working hard at becoming proficient in all of his basic commands. He does require firm correction when pulling on a leash, but has gotten more polite and engaged while in foster.

Quaid will need a handler who can provide plenty of boundaries and structure as he needs direction to continue developing his focus and work ethic. He thrives on routine and prefers someone to keep him on task so he has no opportunity to fail. A home that is moderately active and looking for a companion to join in all of the activities will win this pups’ heart for good!
