Olive is well-adjusted and relaxed, happy to take long naps but always up for a walk whenever it might be offered. She loves to play but has a great off switch and will settle down if asked. Olive does have neuropathy in her left rear leg and a slightly deformed right front leg due to healed fractures after being hit by a car long ago. This causes her to walk with a limp and sometimes struggle with wooden floors or stairs. She will need a home prepared to care for these needs and ensure her safety and unfortunately is not a candidate for a hiking, running, or jogging partner.
Olive is very friendly and has often been described as the “most chill” Malinois some have ever met. She does great with strangers outside of the house and is quick to warm up once introduced. Olive will occasionally bark at other dogs when on a leash, but she will stop quickly when asked. She rides well in the car, doesn’t react to loud noises, and is motivated by food and praise. Olive has mastered basic obedience, is fully crate trained and has great house manners.
Olive would do well in a relaxed, low-energy home. She would be content with a small yard and daily walks and would ideally go to a home with few, carpeted stairs. She is happy to snuggle on the couch or lay on the floor near her people and loves being in her crate, even to sleep at night. Olive is independent and is comfortable being left alone if needed. Due to her orthopedic restrictions, she wouldn’t be a good fit for any formal sporting activities but might enjoy activities that work her brain such as nose work. Olive is ready for love and ready for you!
