Kismet is a super lovey girl that just wants to be with you while adventuring in the world. Being a super sniffer would be the understatement of 2023, she will investigate every new scent she comes across. So, if you are a brisk walker with your dog that might change with Kismet. #SlowWalksMustSniff
This girl had a rough start to life, she was likely hit by a car and the injury required her left rear leg to be amputated so she is now one of the few Woof Project Tripawd’s #TripawdMaligator. That does not slow her down at all, she wants to do everything under the sun all the time. If she was a human her foster says she thing that Kismet would be either a trail guide, professional backpacker, or a treasure hunter aka Miss Indiana Jones! She loves to fetch, cuddling, hiking, you name it, if you want to do it, she will give you 110% of her energy for it. It is difficult to put into words how much her human means to her, just one look into her eyes and you’ll understand how loyal she is to her person.
Kismet does well with strangers, she is an incredibly social dog for having such a rough start in life. Sometimes she can be a little overzealous with introductions which is an item that her foster is working on, but she has never shown any apprehension or fear when being around strangers. She is the life of the party and the center of attention, everywhere she goes people want to meet her and ask about her missing leg. She might just be the model tripawd, extremely social, polite with strangers and other dogs. With her exuberant play style, it is best for her to play with other high-energy dogs as she is still working on figuring out the social cues of when other dogs are done playing. During car rides she usually just chills and naps, at the vet’s office she can be excited and will bark but gets A+ grades from the staff. Due to her high prey drive she requires a home with no cats or small animals.
During her time in foster Kismet has mastered Sit, Lay Down, Shake, and Go to Bed. Other commands that are still being worked on are Wait, Leave It, Recall, and Enough. The most things that she will need continuing work on are impulse control items. There isn’t a single thing that motivates her, not food, not toys, she is self-motivated it seems. Her foster is working on training her with an E-collar on vibration only, it is enough to keep her attention and redirect her from what she is errantly doing. If she had someone to throw the ball for her 24/7 she would be in love head over heels! Since she is still a puppy there are some items that need work, she can be mouthy at times, but it is easily redirected, and she loves shoe laces as chew toys.
Kismet is a high-energy dog that needs a high-energy lifestyle home to match. Someone to take her exploring, play fetch, and daily mental and physical stimulation are key to her lifestyle. She has not experienced children but based on her play style, a home with older children might be ok. She is crate trained and spends the night in her crate. So if you are looking for a special girl that is a ball of energy and just wants your love then Kismet is your girl!
