Joker is a goofball with an opinion about everything, this guy needs to express his feelings 24/7/365. He is tall and willing to please his handler by learning anything that they want him to learn. But be forewarned there will be some added sass and flare to the result of what you are asking him to do!
If Joker had a human job (insert eye roll here), he would make a great TV or radio broadcaster, as he is always making sure that everyone around him knows what his feelings are all day long. He is very smart and will try to cut corners to get more treats, Mr. Smarty Pants is willing to work for food that is for sure. When he first got to his foster home, he was very unsure of the whole situation, so they won him over by tossing treats for him to get him to warm up to them. Within one day he learned how to bark on command and quickly caught on to Bark=Treat which led to a lot more learning experiences. Sometimes he gets a little nervous in new situations but the way to his heart and mind is food. Joker is pretty good with other dogs, and loves a good game of chase! When meeting people he does better with kids and women, as he takes some time to warm up to men.
.
Joker does well during car rides in his crate and was pretty nervous at the vet’s office but after a couple of treats from the vet tech, he came around. Loud noises will cause an alert bark from time to time, but he is not fearful. #HeySomethingIsMakingNoiseOverHere Joker has never shown any signs of being destructive, but he will do things to get your attention. Counter-surfing isn’t really his thing, he is more of a Raiders of the Lost Ark type of fella as he will get into things in the house just to get you to engage with him, Mr. Joker!
During Joker’s time in foster, he has mastered the Sit, Shake, Drop It, Down, Break, Spin, Place, Kennel, Leave It, and Get It commands. He is diligently working on the Middle command, recall, and being quiet/not barking. He has been trained on a remote collar and also uses a prong collar for correction if needed. Joker is a very strong guy in body and mind so will need someone who is willing to put in the work and keep up with his lightning-quick thinking!
Joker is looking for his forever home with a person or family that has a sense of humor (hence the name) and that has breed experience to continue his training. A confident handler will be vital for his future as he could have the tendency to outwit someone who is not savvy with the breed. He would make a great adventure partner and a lifelong best friend. So, if you are up for a challenge with a funny young man and are in need of someone to bark at the Amazon delivery guy, well then Joker is the dog you are looking for!
