ABOUT PARKER

DOB: ~08/01/2021
Weight: 70lbs
Energy level: Low-Moderate
Overall drive: Low-Moderate

Location: Deming, WA

Parker loves nothing more than his person and will let you know if someone is there that is not part of the family. In fact, if he were a human, he’d probably be a security guard in charge of checking everyone’s credentials before they were allowed to enter the building. Those not familiar to him will get a loud and alerting bark. However, with slow and controlled introductions his affectionate, goofy and cuddly side will start to show once he knows you’re supposed to be there. He’s not ever been aggressive but is cautious so will need further work to help him socialize and build confidence.

Parker loves dogs of all sizes and won’t pass up an opportunity to romp and bounce around the yard with his pals. He is crate trained, potty trained, trained for doggy-door use, rides nicely in the car, and unphased by loud noises. He is still working hard to become proficient in his basic skills while being most motivated by food and praise. Simple verbal or leash correction is sufficient to redirect unwanted behaviors. Since he is a teenager, you may notice some ‘doggie tantrums’ as his foster calls them when he will roll on his back and kick if he doesn’t want to do something or gets a command wrong.

Parker would love nothing more than to have a home of his own that is calm and free from chaos and frequent visitors. His handler should be willing to continue to set clear boundaries and structure for his long-term success. They will also need to help him socialize without forcing people on him. Parker is a stunning young boy who is anxiously waiting to be your sidekick and personal cheerleader!
