This little Tiger puppy aka striped bandit, Dutch Shepherd/Malinois/GSD mixed is a bundle of joy and energy!  She is super sweet and very eager to please her person.  Adventuring and finding new things are her favorite things to do, plus she is a perfect balance of an independent girl and an affectionate love bug.

If Halley were human, she would be perfect for a job around kids as she loves her little foster humans!  Or she could be a female Indiana Jones always ready for a new adventure off into the unknown!  From a little pup, Halley has been socialized by going to the park, dog-friendly stores, and training outings to expose her to different types of environments. She has been around livestock (Nigerian goats), horses from a distance, and the resident grumpy old cat.  We are pretty sure the cat has told her where she belongs in the pack as she keeps her distance from that ol’ timer.  When meeting new dogs, she is typically on the submissive side, but has grown up in a pack of all size dogs. She will alert bark to people coming over to the house, but once the commotion has subsided, she is friendly and neutral with home visitors.  When out and about meeting new people, she is unsure in the beginning and can be barky, but with a tasty treat or a toy she warms up pretty quickly.

Halley rides in a car very well, was a little nervous ta the vets’ office, and can startle at loud noises  for a second before she is back to her normal self.  When playing at home with her foster she is very vocal #NotAHuskyButWillTellYouWhatSheWants and she loves running around barking at the resident dogs to instigate play time which is usually a solid chase and bitey face session. After a good play time, she does have the elusive “off switch” and will chill out on her bed, or on the couch with a chew toy or squeaky toy until it is time to wash, rinse, and repeat for more playing!

Halley has mastered her basic and some intermediate skills and is hard at work to perfect her Recall around distractions, Place, Stay, and Down commands. Halley is very food motivated and will work during training even for her regular kibble.  If she is doing something that is not allowed a firm “ah-ah” or “shh” is enough to get her to stop the mischief.  Don’t get it wrong she is still a puppy and is not allowed into the kitchen, around trash cans, or allowed to free roam the home, due to her inquisitive nature.  She has never been destructive and is crate-trained often she will just hang out in her crate as a chillout spot.  Halley is very athletic as she can clear a 4ft fence with ease, she usually does this if she hears a noise she needs to go investigate #NoseyMcNoseyPants.

Halley is looking for her forever home that can continue her training and set her up for lifelong success.  She would do fine in a home with respectful older kids as she adores her foster 7 and 10-year-old human siblings. She could also excel in barn hunt, scent work, rally, dock diving, tricks, you name it she enjoys working and training.  She does well in a quiet/calm house, but she could be in a fast-paced house as well.  Having grown up with other dogs, a resident other dog would probably send her over the moon with joy as well.  So, if you are looking for a BFF and have some room/time for Halley, apply for this little tiger puppy!
