Sheba is a smart, loyal, and affectionate young girl looking for an active, committed home to match her big brain and bigger heart.
If Sheba were human, she’d be a Navy SEAL - this girl is extremely intelligent, learns quickly, and thrives when she has both mental and physical outlets. She’s eager to work, eager to please, and highly motivated by food, praise, and attention from her handler. She’s crate trained (uses her crate when her foster is away and overnight), potty trained, and has mastered her basic skills while continuing to refine them.
Sheba can be cautious when meeting new people or in new situations, but once she decides you’re her person, she is absolutely glued to you. She’s incredibly loving and wants nothing more than to be involved in your life. She does well with the resident dogs in her foster home and is wonderful with children - her foster has three kids, and Sheba shines with them.
Out in the world, Sheba is still gaining environmental exposure. She hikes well, rides calmly in the car, handles the vet’s office like a champ, and isn’t bothered by loud noises. She may become protective if strangers approach unexpectedly, but she is not aggressive. She responds well to structure, clear boundaries, and balanced training (including e-collar for redirection).
Sheba is still working on a few puppy things like chewing bedding when bored, jumping up to give enthusiastic “hugs,” and demanding attention when other dogs are being loved on.
Ideal Home: A moderately active person or family who wants a true companion, will include her in daily life, and is committed to continuing her training and confidence-building.
