Los Angeles, CA | 25 lbs | ~DOB: 1/1/2025 | High Energy | High Drive

Poppy is one of those puppies that makes you stop and stare. With her glossy brindle coat, soft soulful eyes, and the cutest little paws, she’s truly stunning, but it’s her personality that seals the deal. She loves to follow her people from room to room, quietly checking in to make sure you’re still nearby before trotting off to chew a toy. Independent, affectionate, and hilariously sneaky, she somehow always ends up right behind you. If Poppy were human, she’d be a ninja: silent, observant, and always one step ahead.

Poppy is sweet, curious, confident, and friendly. She greets new people with enthusiasm and kisses, and she isn’t afraid to ask for what she wants; whether that’s food, toys, or the sleeves of your sweatshirt. She’s smart, learns quickly, and is not your average puppy. While she’s bouncy and playful, she’s also sensitive and does best in calm, grounded environments. With other dogs, Poppy is outgoing and plays rough. She can absolutely keep up with big dogs and loves them. Because of this, an adult dog who can offer appropriate corrections would be ideal. She is very mouthy (teething!), so young children may not be a good fit.

Poppy is highly food motivated and eager to work, though she responds best to gentle, sensitive corrections. She’s about 95% house trained, crate training is in progress, and she’s learning basic commands like sit, down, off, and drop it. She’s not destructive unless you count eating dirt or pulling grass for fun.

Poppy needs an experienced, confident adopter who can provide structure, mental stimulation, and frequent exercise. Adults only, ideally with one stable adult dog or as an only dog. Someone home every 2–3 hours is a must. With her drive, coordination, and intelligence, Poppy could excel in agility, bite work, or other dog sports and she’d love a home that enjoys being active outdoors.

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview.

Adoption Donation: $500.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Rowland Heights, CA to Tacoma, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
