ABOUT LEONARD

Age: 9 years

Gender: Male

Weight: 65 lbs

Energy Level: Low

Overall Drive: Low; High prey drive

Location: Palm Springs, California

Leonard is a chill, well-behaved boy. He had one eye removed due to glaucoma, but that doesn’t stop him from having fun! His nose is often glued to the ground like he’s looking for clues— he’d definitely be a detective if he were a human!

Leonard is an affectionate older boy who just enjoys being around his people. If you’re busy, he’ll just nap near you; otherwise, he just wants to be loved, pet, brushed, go on car rides, and go on walks throughout the day. He appears to know his basic obedience, possibly more, is house-trained, and is not destructive. He enjoys meeting new people, receiving visitors at home, and is fine with other dogs.

Leonard’s ideal home would include multiple people who can give him love and attention. Due to his lower energy and peaceful demeanor, he may do well with children who have previous experience with dogs and can respectfully interact with him. He cannot be in a home with cats or small animals due to his high prey drive.

West Coast adoptions only, HOWEVER, if application is strong we may consider placement in other Western US states.

Breed experience preferred

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview. If that goes well, we will arrange for a home visit.

Adoption Donation: $500.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Bakersfield, CA to Bellingham, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
