​Meet Kuma – Your Goofy, Loyal, Low-Maintenance Bestie

 If Kuma were human, he’d be Will Ferrell’s assistant—loyal, hilarious, and just the right amount of lazy. He’s that rare combo of easygoing and deeply devoted, a “ride or die” kind of dog who just wants to make you happy (and maybe help himself to whatever food you left too close to the edge of the table).

Kuma is the ultimate companion—sweet, affectionate, and a little bit awkward in the best way. His love language? Full-body cuddles. He’ll casually sit on your legs, or sometimes…your whole torso. When you walk into the room, his ears go back, his tail wags, and his eyes literally smile. He’s a total heart-melter.

​

In the house, Kuma’s polite and predictable. He’s fully house-trained, not destructive, and only guilty of light “table surfing” when tempted by a sandwich at face level. He’s crate-trained, knows all the basics (sit, stay, paw), and will even do a dramatic flop on the floor when it’s bedtime and he’s not ready to go in. He loves toys—especially tossing a Kong or half-deflated basketball around the yard like a happy toddler.

​

 Socially, Kuma is calm and respectful adults and dogs. He was part of playgroups in the shelter and enjoys friendly meetups on walks. He’s happiest in a mellow home with adults or older kids who understand dog boundaries. NO young kids for this guy!  He bonds deeply with his person, follows routines like a champ, and loves car rides, walks, and hanging nearby while you relax.

Kuma’s ideal family is steady, affectionate, and enjoys life’s simple pleasures—morning walks, lazy afternoons, and quiet evenings with a snoring dog at their feet. If you’re looking for a best friend who’ll stick by your side (and occasionally toss a toy at your leg just for laughs), Kuma’s your guy.

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview.

Transport along Interstate 5 (Rowland Heights, CA to Edmonds, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.
