Energy Level: Moderate | Overall Drive: Moderate
Ivy is a super affectionate girl with her people. Once you are in her circle of trust, she is gonna love you forever! This lady is 115% goofball who loves tug, fetch, and hikes with her people more than anything on earth.
If Ivy was a human, her foster thinks that she would be a full-time backpacker with aspirations to knock the Pacific Crest Trail off her list first. Ivy is sweet all the way through her core and is super confident in all situations around the house and out in public. She will alert bark when someone new comes over to the house, but she is not super friendly with strangers but new rather neutral towards them when in crowds. By neutral we mean she does not want to interact with them but will great them nicely if she is asked. Around other dogs she is great with them in all sizes and shapes. Currently she shares a property fence with horses and is respectful of them, and super respectful of cats. #ProbabllyGotBappedInThePast
During car rides, Ivy is quiet and loves going in the car. And is well mannered at the vet’s office. Additionally, loud noises do not bother her at all #RockSolid. Her current number one thing is hanging out and spending time with her people regardless of what they are doing. A few things that she has yet to experience at her foster home are kids and other small animals besides cats, but we think that she would be good with them after proper introductions. One of the things that Ivy does that makes her foster laugh is tilting her head when being spoken to, also she just has her tongue hanging out of her closed mouth sometimes as well. #ItBeAMlemMa’am
Ivy has mastered the Sit, and Down commands also she settles well in public settings and no longer jumps on people. Currently she is working on how to catch a frisbee and learning how to be calm in the house while unkenneled. If you come home and don’t sprint to let her out of her crate, expect to hear a lot of excited barking! #ImJustHappyYourAreHome Overall she is not a destructive dog, well technically has not been given the opportunity other than stealing flowers and some gardening tools and decided to make them toys. If left unsupervised she would more than likely think that everything is fair game to be chewed on, think of a 4-legged toddler!
Ivy is looking for her perfect forever home that understands that she will need some polishing to be the perfect dog. She is very Velcro but does great with a busy home where people are coming and going, and she tolerated regular visitors as well. So, if you are looking for an adventure buddy that is very adaptable, Ivy might just be the girl for you!
