Fisher is a sweet and goofy boy who loves playing with his foster-issued toys. He really wants to be with his person all the time, pretty much shadow 2.0! For being a young guy, he has shown good signs of being able to chill in the house, which is an oddity at this age for most dogs.
If Fisher were a human, he would make a great juggler in the circus or on Freemont Street in Las Vegas, as he loves to perform for his people. Most of the time, he takes a few minutes to warm up to new people, but once he lets you in his circle of trust, it is like winning the new best friend lottery. #WantToGoDoKarateInTheGarage He is still learning the ropes on how to play with humans, but will entertain himself with his toys, tossing them and chasing them around on his own. It also takes him a little while to warm up to new dogs as well, again, like the humans, once he is warmed up, that dog is his new BFF.
Fisher loads up nicely and rides quietly in his crate for car rides and is well mannered at the vet’s office. When playing with other dogs, he can be a little on the rough side of playing from time to time, mostly with smaller dogs. Also, he has taken to barking and being unsure about small fluffy dogs, which is likely his prey drive coming out. The chickens at his foster’s house spark some curiosity in him, but he is by no means obsessed with them.
Praise and food are both great options for training motivation and since Fisher is a soft fella, a simple verbal “no” is enough for correction and redirection. He is potty trained, does well in the crate, but will paw and bark if he knows you are still around, and is still working on reading his “House Rules” handbook. Some of his naughty things that he does are stealing shoes, and he likes to see what you are making for dinner by putting his nose on the counter or on your plate. #NiceBurgerYouGotThereBeAShameIfFisherAteIt.
Fisher is searching for his forever home with someone who can be patient with him and work on building his trust. Be able to take him out on your adventures to do more socialization and training with him. He would probably love to have another medium to large dog sibling to pal around with, and he could handle a moderately busy home with some training. So, if you are willing to put in some effort and are looking for a new shadow to follow you around the house, look no further than Fisher!
