Zucca is the best friend you didn’t know you were missing. She is an amazing girl that is extremely smart and sweet, but also a powerhouse of a dog with a great “off-switch”. Not only does she know when she needs to be gentle, she also has quite the goofball side too #PerfectMemberOfSociety.
If Zucca was a human, her foster thinks she would be a top-notch detective. As she is always cautious and ready to protect her people but also has the ability to relax and turn it off when given the go-ahead from her person. She has been nothing but perfect around kids including little ones. While she is a large dog, her brain has convinced her that she is also a lap dog #IfIFitsISits. If given the opportunity she will take up residence in your lap and never want to leave. While out on walks she is always checking out the world via sniffs and looking around to make sure that everything is ok for her people.
Zucca is capable of being left home alone for extended periods of time without being destructive, but she would rather be with you, follow you around, and cuddle with you. She is crate trained but would rather sleep on your bed (taking up at least 90% of it). Her protective side makes her very cautious of encountering strangers, once you tell her it is ok, she will chill out but always keep a watchful eye. Being a typical Malinois she can be a little mouthy and “air-snap” but if you give her the command “no mouth” she stops immediately. Her foster has a toddler in the home and Zucca does fine with her, so children are ok with Zucca as long as there are clear boundaries.
Some of the skills that Zucca has mastered during her time in foster care are kennel, sit, stay, down, focus, here, and no mouth. Other items still being worked on are drop it, out, and load. Zucca is an amazing dog that needs to go to an active home that hopefully has a large yard or land for her to roam around. She loves her people/pack and has a pretty strong prey drive so no livestock nor cats in this girl's future #CatsAreFriendsNotFoodZucca. There is a possibility that she would accel in nose work and agility for sports as well. Loud noises do not bother her and she seems to enjoy car rides.
So, if you are needing a best lady friend and have Malinois other high drive dog experience then Zucca is the lady for you!
