Zubi is a super sweet and loving young lady.  She is extremely compliant, super smart, and eager to learn new commands.  If there was a dog that just lived to make their owner happy, it would be Zubi.

If Zubi had a human job, her foster thinks that she would make a great office worker.  You know, not super demanding, or energetic/active, and always down for a good breakroom or watercooler gossip session.  We think collectively that Zubi would make a solid dog for a first-time Malinois owner as she is very biddable.  Not only does she enjoy training, but she is also easy to train!  As with any dog having a solid structure, setting boundaries, and providing both physical and mental stimulation are key to keeping Zubi happy and out of trouble.

Zubi rides well in the care while crated, is well-mannered at the vet’s office, and is working on her confidence when in public. Loud noises like motorcycles or can startle her, but she recovers quickly and moves on after some handling reassurance.  This lady does have some prey drive in her as her foster has noted that she gets fixated on the local cats and goats.  When visitors come over, she is sweet with all people regardless of size.  Additionally, she loves being outside and would make a great hiking companion and responds well to a prong collar.

During Zubi’s time in foster, she has mastered the Place, Come, Heel, Down, and Sit commands.  She is currently working on the game of fetch and chilling out around livestock/cats.  Have we mentioned that this lady loves food?  When it comes to training time, food is her #1 motivator for sure!  Her house manners are coming along well, but she is never left unsupervised at this point in time. She has tried to counter-surf a couple of times when high-value items were left out on the counter.  She does well in her crate but if she still has energy to burn off, she will scratch at the sides and whine to get out. However, if she is tuckered out from the day she will chill or just go to sleep. Zubi is learning not to jump up on people when she is meeting them, not to chew on everything she can get her mouth on, and digging in the yard will not get her anywhere. (must think there is gold in the ground still).

Zubi needs an active home that will continue her training and make sure she has an awesome experience in this life.  She might be able to live with another dog, but a cat and livestock free home are required. Additionally, until the jump is calmed down a home that does not have any toddler-sized or smaller kids would be best.  So if you are in need of a hiking/adventure buddy Zubi might just be your lady!
