Are you looking for a lovable, loyal, and affectionate pup? Well, look no further because Zippo has it all – and then some! Zippo loves to squish you with cuddles, is incredibly playful, and once he connects with you and chooses you, he is hitched for life. This social guy has shown superb environmental stability in stores, out on horseback rides, with visitors to the home, and with mannerly, respectful children. He will alert to unwanted visitors at home or on the property.

 

Zippo is potty trained, crate trained, rides well in the car, is well-mannered at the vets’ office, and is unphased by loud noises. He has mastered his basic commands and is working to have a reliable recall off leash, not being destructive if left alone (simple crating would solve this) and ignoring intact male dogs and he does become defensive. He does have a rough play style so will need someone to manage and redirect if he gets too intense. He responds to moderate corrections and his biggest motivator is praise, followed by food and toys.

 

Zippo has a zest for life and finds joy in anything he does, especially if it involves his person. He loves to be outside, splashing in the pond, playing with his toys, romping with other neutral dogs, rolling in the hay, or just laying next to you while you enjoy the evening with friends. Zippo is a beautifully balanced dog and while he does have a high energy level, he also has a nice off switch if his physical and mental needs are met daily.

 

Zippo’s ideal family is active and wants a fun, confident, and friendly dog to share all of life’s adventures with. He thrives on the human connection and will try anything you ask of him to please you. Zippo would love to have a ranch of his own and having another dog or 2 to play with would be perfect. If you are an avid hiker, someone who loves to camp or go on trail rides, Zippo is waiting to connect and choose you – you just need to choose him first!

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview.

Transport along Interstate 5 (Rowland Heights, CA to Edmonds, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.
