Zev is the epitome of love. He is friendly with all people, even small kids, social and playful with any size dog, and extremely loyal. He will check in on you, make sure you aren’t too far away, and is just a top-notch companion. No matter what is on the agenda he is game – from running, hiking, playing at the beach, or having a quiet day full of affection and cuddles, he is up for the task!

Zev craves the attention of other dogs and will match his playstyle to theirs and has been very respectful of any size differences. He can come off as intimidating when out on walks because he wants to meet and play with every dog so further training to ensure his focus remains on his handler would be best. Zev has mastered most of his basic commands and is working on becoming proficient in more. He is motivated mostly by his ball, followed by praise and treats. Simple verbal correction is sufficient for redirecting unwanted behaviors.

Zev is potty trained, rides well in the car, and is well-mannered at the vets’ office. He is still working on overcoming his fear of crates but is making continued progress. His biggest area of work will be managing him around anything motorized (mowers, drills, vehicles, etc) as he will want to stop the motor from running by biting at it. He MUST be placed inside when using yard equipment or if there is any vehicle running.

Zev would thrive in an active home with another young dog or 2 to play with. He’d do best with a family wanting to include him in as many activities as possible, and who will set him up for continued success with clear boundaries and structure. Fetch, and an endless supply of squeaky balls would be ideal, as he just can’t get enough of anything ball-related. If you are looking for a friendly and social pup who will greet you with a hug around your waist and kisses on the cheek when you come home, Zev is your guy! With his love for physical activity, balls, food, and praise, he may also make a wonderful candidate for nosework, agility, and much more!
