Zayla is an extremely loyal companion, that would move mountains to make sure she is next to her person!  She is pretty much a second shadow, regardless of where you want to go during the day.  If you are looking for a second shadow that likes to play, clingy Zayla might be your lady!

Zayla loves going on car rides and letting her nose hang out the window in the breeze sniffing all of the wind that is zooming by.  If it is a longer car ride, she will just curl up and take a nap in the backseat.  When she was at the vet’s office, she was very focused on the other dogs, but never caused an issue during her time there.  The vet’s office staff complimented how great she was during her visit, but she did get a little squirmy when it was time to take her temperature but that is understandable.  #ThanksButNoThanksNoMoreCoreTemps. There have been no issues with her and loud noises, and thunder didn’t seem to bother her too much other than she just wanted to be closer to her person during it.

During Zayla’s time in foster, she is working on Sit, Stay, not charging out doors before giving her release word “ok” or "break", and she is also working on a longer down-stay.  During walks she does pull on the leash, and needs gentle reminders on a prong. She is nonreactive to other dogs unless they bark at her first. She is neutral with children, goats, cats and other resident dogs, but has not been allowed to play with them. She is fear reactive to larger livestock (horses) but may get over it with more positive exposure. At her foster home, she has not been destructive at all other than tearing up a food wrapper that was left out.  She can free roam the home while her foster is home but is also crate trained for when she is left alone.  Although she is very vocal about being left home, she has not tried to escape her crate or outdoor kennel.

Zayla is looking for her forever home that would be devoted to continuing her training in her effort to gain more confidence and be the best dog in the world. She would do well in nose-work, weight-pull, agility,  fastcat, rally, competitive obedience, or other hobbies/sports that will work her brain and body. A home that would take her on adventures and include her in as many activities as their life allows.  If you have some room in your house and heart for this loveable girl, then please apply to bring Zayla home!

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview.
