ABOUT ZAYLA

~DOB: 2/1/2022

Weight: 44lbs

Energy Level: Low

Overall Drive: Moderate

Location: Pasadena, CA

Zayla is an extremely loyal companion, that would move mountains to make sure she is next to her person!  She is pretty much a second shadow for her person, regardless of where you want to go during the day.  If you are looking for a second shadow that likes to play, Zayla might be your lady!

If Zayla was a human and was sitting in high school trying to figure out what her career was going to be while listening to her guidance counselor talk her ear off about being a supermodel or dress designer, she would not have been listening that is for sure.  There is a 100% chance that she would be a bodyguard if she was a human!  Not so much as a personal protector, but more like an assistant that is always around in case you need anything ever.  #ClingyMuch  She is not overbearing just wants to hang out with you and play most of the time.

Zayla loves going on car rides and letting her nose hang out the window in the breeze sniffing all of the wind that is zooming by.  If it is a longer car ride, she will just curl up and take a nap in the backseat.  When she was at the vet’s office, she was very focused on the other dogs, but never caused an issue during her time there.  The vet’s office staff complimented how great she was during her visit, but she did get a little squirmy when it was time to take her temperature but that is understandable.  #ThanksButNoThanksNoMoreCoreTemps  There have been no issues with her and loud noises, and thunder didn’t seem to bother her too much other than she just wanted to be closer to her person during it.

During Zayla’s time in foster, she has mastered Sit and Release (Break) commands.  She is working on Stay at doors before giving her release word “break”, and she is also working on staying down (has to be reminded sometimes).  During walks she does tug on the leash but not unmanageable, just excited about the walk and other dogs more than anything.  At her foster home, she has not been destructive at all other than tearing up a food wrapper that was left out.  She can free roam the home while her foster is home but is also crate trained for when she is left alone.  Although she is not a big fan of being left home, she has not tried to escape her crate ever.

Zayla is looking for her forever home that would be devoted to continuing her training in her effort to be the best dog in the world.  A home that would take her on adventures and include her in as many activities as their life allows.  She is unknown with children, livestock, and other resident dogs so she might do best as an only child, but there is the possibility to test or introduce her to them before making her part of your home.  If you have some room in your house and heart for this loveable girl, then please apply to bring Zayla home!
