Yunas is an older gentleman who is very debonair and wants to cuddle with his human all day long! He is pretty curious for his age and has no problem keeping up with the youngsters given his #SugarSnout. This guy just wants a chill home to for his golden years, sounds pretty awesome right?
If Yunas were a human he would make a great food critic, he is head over heels about food and will try anything you give him at least once before making a final decision on it. Imagine a four-legged Guy Fieri who is just roamin’ around life looking for the best diners, drive-ins, and dives aka your kitchen. Yunas is cuddly, super affectionate, and loves giving kisses. Overall, he is pretty confident and does not require your constant attention as he will gladly play with his toys alone or chew on a bone to pass the time. He would like to be in the same room with you all the time though. His foster home does not have any kids, cats, or livestock to be tested with so those are unknown, but he has shown some interest in the resident bird so you might have to keep your parrot locked up.
Yunas will roam all over the car when travelling, so a short tether or crate is best. He will try and get out of the car as soon as the door is opened, so continued training in respecting physical boundaries is needed. Loud noises will leave him seeking guidance and reassurance, but he recovers quickly. Yunas doesn’t bark at other dogs or people walking by unless they are loud and then he will let out an alert bark to try and keep peace in the neighborhood.
During Yunas' time in foster care, he mastered the sit and down commands and is working on Stay, Place, Heel. His recall is solid about 50% of the time, so more work is needed. Yunas is potty trained, but this fella is a trashcan raider and pro counter surfer. #CowabungaDude Yunas’ love of food often will cause him to ignore boundaries during human mealtime and he wants to be as close to the food as possible. He has a solid “out” command and will drop any item he has on the spot if told. Crate training is a work in progress.
Yunas is looking for a forever home that will continue his training and help him be the best older guy you could ever ask for. He would prefer his person to be home with him more than not to cuddle, play ball, and soak up the sun with his best friend. Transport along Interstate 5 (Stevenson Ranch, CA to Edmonds, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.
