Yumi is a stunning, dark-coated young female with a friendly, confident nature and wonderfully solid nerves. She’s one of those dogs who immediately makes a great impression: outgoing without being pushy, resilient without being hard, and curious about the world in a way that makes life with her an adventure.
Yumi loves to explore and take everything in, whether it’s on a walk, around new environments, or checking out what’s happening beyond the fence (yes, she’s an impressive climber!). Her absolute favorite thing in the world is carrying a ball. Not fetching, not dropping it, just proudly carrying it around like a prized possession. It’s equal parts charming and hilarious.
She has a very good hunt drive and, with continued training, could truly shine in obedience, nose work, or other dog sports. Training has already made a noticeable difference in her engagement and relationship with her handler. She responds well to praise and fair corrections, doesn’t shut down, and doesn’t get overly excitable. She’s currently learning basic obedience including heeling, sit, and the beginnings of stay, and shows excellent potential to keep progressing.
Yumi is confident in new places, friendly with new people, calm around loud noises, and has done great in the car, crate, and at the vet. She was also respectful around horses. While she hasn’t been extensively tested with kids or other dogs yet, her temperament suggests she’ll do best with thoughtful introductions and guidance.
Because Yumi is clever, athletic, and has previously been allowed to make her own fun, she’ll need a home that values structure and security. A covered dog run or crate when unattended is a must. In return, you’ll get a loyal, capable, and engaging companion who’s ready to work, explore, and grow with you.
Yumi is best suited for an active home that wants to do life with their dog.
Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview.

Transport is available but the cost is not included in the adoption fee.
