Turan absolutely adores and loves his handlers and people in general. He leans in, wags his tail, asks for tummy rubs and has a look of total bliss. If he were a human, he would most likely be some type of accountant manager rounding up each number, but the type of guy who has no problem unplugging from the work and rolling over for a good evening snooze.
Turan is affectionate, attentive, curious, and loves nosework but meticulous and methodical, a fun little package!
Turan mostly ignores other dogs, occasionally gives a light sniff. He generally keeps to himself but recently developed a playful horsing around relationship with his cot mate, and Woof foster Kermie. He will become overly excitable when in the presence of chaotic activity by other dogs but is easily corrected. He has not been tested with children but is extremely lovely to all humans he meets. Due to his prey drive a home free of livestock, cats, and small pets is required.
Turan is crate trained, potty trained, travels well in the car, is unfazed by loud noises and well-mannered at the vets’ office. He has mastered intermediate level obedience and working on more advanced skills. Turan is highly food motivated which makes training fun – especially if you have cheese!! Belly rubs are a close second when it comes to his favorite things. He is extremely attentive so only mild leash correction is needed. He is also trained off leash on an e-collar which also has been highly beneficial to stop the OCD circling behavior from hyper stimulation.
His eyes are deep and soulful, his dedication to people is amazing. Turan will make you laugh, smile and make sure you never have a bad day! He would love nothing more than to have a person of his very own to be completely devoted to. Turan would do best in a quiet, predictable home with a single handler. If you’re looking for a companion with a heart of gold and unwavering commitment, then Turan is your guy. He is great in public, loves to play, and has a quiet way about him. He is the perfect dog in a small package - don’t overlook his brightness!
