ABOUT TUNGSTEN

Age: 1 year

Weight: 65lbs

Gender: Male

Energy Level: Moderate to High

Overall Drive: Moderate

Location: Eugene, OR

NO CATS, SMALL ANIMALS

Tungsten is a young, active dog who is eager to please and ready to learn. If he were a human, he’d be an athlete; always ready to play, no matter what the game!

Tungsten is very social and has done well meeting new people both inside and outside of the home without hesitation. He can be a bit over the top, so he needs reminders not to jump. Tungsten has been friendly with young children but due to his size would likely do best living with older children. Due to his prey drive, he will need a home without cats, livestock, or other small pets. Tungsten has done well with both male and female dogs (though prefers to play with females) after proper introductions, though his play style is very rough which can be off-putting for some. He rides well in a crate in the car, is curious about loud noises but not afraid, and is fully crate trained. Tungsten is working on basic obedience and will need a confident handler who is comfortable giving him firm correction and strong enough to keep him controlled if something catches his eye that he’d like to give chase to. He is currently working on reducing reactivity to cars while on-leash. Tungsten in many ways is your typical, young Malinois, a little mouthy in a playful way but always looking to his handler for guidance and support.

Tungsten needs a home ready for a full-sized dog with the energy and manners of your typical bouncy puppy. He will need an experienced handler who is ready to provide structure and boundaries along with plenty of affection and play. Tungsten’s nature would lend him well to being a running, hiking, or even swimming partner in the future. This giant puppy is ready to jump right into your heart – just in time for Valentine’s day!

West Coast adoptions only, HOWEVER, if application is strong we may consider placement in other Western US states.

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview. If that goes well, we will arrange for a home visit.

Adoption Donation: $500.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Bakersfield, CA to Bellingham, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
