Toddy is a lovable guy who longs for all the attention he can get from his handler, and as such is always within reach to receive scratches and belly rubs. If he were a human, he would be a professional athlete: he has endless amounts of energy and is extremely coordinated and agile. He loves to run and will play with anything that can be thrown or caught.
Toddy can be very eager but is easily distracted while out away from the house. He can be slightly reactive to both people and dogs when on leash and can struggle refocusing when there is lots of activity around him. He will need continued work with a skilled handler to ensure his focus stays on task. Toddy has played well with other dogs off leash and has also done well meeting new people when not on leash. Due to his high prey drive and high energy, he would likely do best in a home without cats, small animals, or children. Toddy rides well in the car, doesn’t react to loud noises aside from the occasional bark, and is fully crate trained though will sometimes protest being in his crate during the day. He is working on mastering basic obedience and ensuring he is chewing appropriately. Toddy will need an experienced handler who can provide him with structure and support while he continues to learn how to harness his energy and drive.
Toddy would do best in an active household where he could be included in all the hustle and bustle. He has lots of love and energy to give, and with the right handler he will continue to blossom into an amazing companion and partner. Looking for a goofy, athletic, and eager dog who is ready to give all of himself to you? Toddy is ready to meet you!
