Sting is quite the looker, with his white blaze on his chest and neck he appears to be wearing a tuxedo shirt all the time. #JamesBondJr While he can be soft and sweet, this teenager-minded boy will push the rules and boundaries if you let him. More than anything he just wants to be with her person and be loved all the time.
If Sting had a human job, he would be the court jester as it is nonstop silly antics with him. He likely was born with springs for legs and can clear most items with a single bound, so nothing is technically “out of reach” for Sting. He loves praise and affection, so he is a great cuddle buddy on the couch, but he is still young and ready to roll out at the drop of a hat. He is a great snuggler but might bonk you with his head or attempt to chew on your foot when his goofball side peaks out. Sting has never done anything malicious or been aggressive, he is just trying to figure out why his body is so big now as he is growing. #ThinkNormalTeenageBoyStuff
Sting rides well in the car both loose and crated and is well-mannered at the vets’ office. Loud noises and quick movements startle him, but he is getting better with that as he gains confidence, and he recovers quickly. Kids are his jam! He loves playing with kids over 6 years old, but needs constant supervision as he is also young, strong and the play may be too rough for some smaller kids. He has been around horses and chickens and does not seem to be really interested in them. Cats make him curious, but he would rather be with his person than off chasing them it seems.
During Sting’s time in foster, he has mastered Place, Load Up, Kennel, Out, Sit, Down, Wait, Off, Leave It, and Enough commands. He is still working diligently on Come, Stay, and solid leash manners. He is house-trained but will counter-surf or check the trash if there is something that smells good to him, but simple verbal correction is enough to redirect unwanted behavior. #KidStuffYaKnow
Sting is looking for his forever home that understands the breed and knows what it is like to have a young dog with energy to burn daily! While he is young and goofy, he needs a fair and confident handler who can smooth out this fella to make him the best dog ever. We think he would be fine with older dog-savvy kids and wouldn’t mind having another dog in the home as well, however he is not a dog that wants or needs a canine playmate. His person is his number one interest. He has the ability to excel in nose work, barn hunt, agility, obedience, or rally as long as you can make it fun
