Meet Starla, the most social Malinois you’ll ever know! She prides herself on charming everyone she meets by melting into them when they say hello. If she were a human, Starla would be a personal assistant, willing to do anything and everything for her person and family. Her social side can translate into some bouncy, puppy energy, but she is adaptable to whatever her person might be doing.

In addition to people, Starla loves most other dogs of various sizes. However, she is learning to take correction a bit better, so she might do best in a home with a less dominant female or a goofy male canine companion. She doesn’t seem to pay attention to cats or the livestock she’s encountered. She is working on coping with some unconventional environmental triggers such as going off curbs and walking past stationary cars. Starla is most motivated by praise however recently has been increasingly interested in food rewards.

Starla will need a home with a tall, sturdy fence as she has climbed them in the past. She is working on reducing barking while in her kennel during outside stimulus and reducing jumping. In addition to addressing these issues, Starla is proficient in basic obedience, knows the place command, and is working on impulse control when moving through doors and gates.

Starla would excel in an active family home with another dog to play with. Ideally, she’d have someone home with her often as she enjoys being with people above all else. Could you be her perfect partner? Starla is waiting for you!
