ABOUT SICA

Age: 2 years

Gender: Female

Weight: 70lbs

Energy Level: Moderate

Overall Drive: Moderate, High ball once comfortable

Location: Vancouver, WA

Sica is an extremely sensitive and affectionate dog who is happy with lots of love and playing with her people. She is one of the gentlest dogs you'll ever meet! She takes a bit to warm up; but once she trusts you, she wants to please, is super smart, and she is eager to learn new tricks or commands. When she’s not out exploring or working on new skills, you will find her draped across the couch or snuggled up next to you.

Sica is fully house-trained and crate-trained. She usually doesn't lay down in the car, but is always willing to go for a drive. Sica initially startles at loud noises or fast movements; but she recovers quickly. She has mastered basic obedience. Sica is motivated most by food and praise, and only requires gentle correction for most things. She will need a patient handler willing to help her build independence and confidence so that she can blossom fully.

Sica is watchful and nervous when she sees strangers on walks, and seems to be better meeting people inside her home. She has not been yet exposed to livestock, cats, or other small pets. Sica tends to be dog selective, but once properly introduced and acquainted, she will play wrestle and chase for hours. She might do well with a neutral male housemate. Sica has been known to chew on things when bored or left alone, so will need to be crated when she is unsupervised.

Sica is looking for a moderately or highly active home that can devote a lot of time to bonding, training, and who is familiar with Malinois. She thrives on routine, so will need firm boundaries, structure and to ensure her physical and mental needs are met. She has a great off-switch and would love nothing more than a family to share adventures and downtime with. With some more confidence building, she could be a good candidate for light sports such as lure coursing, rally, obedience, or agility.
