Shady ended up at Woof Project due to no fault of his own.  If you're looking for a loyal companion, Shady is the perfect dog for you.

​

Shady is good with the foster's dog savvy children, other schipperkes and German Shepherd. He can be reactive to strangers and other larger dogs. The cats were a rough transition but he completely ignores them now. He ignores goats, but will chase chickens if given the chance.

Shady is looking for an easy going retirement home, since he isn't a fan of loud noises or fast movements, but has tolerated a busier life style. He would be perfect for an older couple that still likes to go on walks and take him traveling. He is a very good traveler.

Don't let his age fool you, he has lots of life left, and often goes on the treadmill and hikes! On the off time he loves to patrol the backyard, roll in the grass, chase butterflies, and sleep on the porch.

Shady is good in the bath and for brushing. But nail cutting is always an adventure. He is fully crate-trained and sleeps soundly in it all night. He is potty trained except for wanting to mark other dogs's beds at first.

​

Shady came to us incredibly overweight. After shedding a few pounds, he is so much happier and much more active. His new home will HAVE to continue his diet. He has been started on finding birch oil to keep his mind active and is doing great! Could potentially compete in nosework with more training!

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview.

Transport along Interstate 5 (Stevenson Ranch, CA to Edmonds, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.
