This girl may look old, but her mischievous spirit sure isn’t! Sasha is a very sweet girl whose boredom and curiosity will get her into surprising situations for her age. She’ll need heavy-duty toys and a quality crate– she’s already chewed through a welded kennel run and irritated her nose attempting to escape from an Impact Crate! She is crate-trained but has a hard time settling down if things are happening around her, so her crate should be in a dark, quiet room without other dogs.

Since she is older, her body can’t always keep up with her puppy-like mind! She will need frequent breaks during exercise and regular potty breaks every 3-4 hours. She’s good at letting you know if she needs to go, but she’ll occasionally fake it just to get more time outside! Her favorite thing to do is play fetch, but she can also be motivated by other toys, food, and praise, So far, she has been quite dog-selective but has taken a liking to her more submissive and gentle foster brother who she wrestles with; but their matches are always supervised because it can get intense! When meeting new people, Sasha is shy but friendly. She does need more practice around animals, other dogs, and people on things such as bikes and skateboards because they activate her prey drive. Besides some of her basic commands, she has good recall and a good loose leash walk. Indoors, she’s also working on her house manners and will need to be supervised until she learns that her realm does not include countertops and trash cans.

Sasha would do best in a home without any cats, small animals, small dogs, or young children. Her household would ideally almost always have someone around to hang around or play with, get regular potty breaks, and keep her out of trouble!

West Coast adoptions only, HOWEVER, if application is strong we may consider placement in other Western US states.

Must have previous or current, purebred Malinois experience OR other high drive working breed experience. Have no children under the age of 12 years old OR have extensive experience with children and high drive dogs.

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview. If that goes well, we will arrange for a home visit.

Adoption Donation: $500.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Bakersfield, CA to Bellingham, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
