This treat-lovin’, water-stompin’, lizard chasin’ girl will do just about anything to please her handler. Riley has incredible eye contact during training and her intelligence has made training a breeze. Although a bit timid when meeting new people, you will win her over almost instantly if treats are involved. Once she trusts you, she is outgoing, cuddly, and enjoys as many scratches (and cookies) as you can give. She bonds best with people when she is training with them and showing them her tricks.

Riley is curious about everything she wants there to be no area where she is not allowed. She loves using her nose to explore new areas and to find any treats you may have forgotten about. Riley is potty trained, crate trained, rides well in the car, and is learning to save her parkour moves for the when she is out of the house. She is unphased by loud noises out of the home but can get scared of them when in the home. Due to her timidity around strangers, she may need to be muzzled for exams. Treats will always sweeten the deal for her though!

Riley has mastered a long list of basic and intermediate tasks and, as you can tell, is motivated mostly by treats!! She is working on not lunging at waterfowl and barking at people wearing hats. Due to her high prey drive, a home without children or small furry or feathered animals is required.

Riley’s ideal home will have breed experience, love training, playing tug, and be moderately active. She would love to have a neutral male dog of similar size to play with and share adventures with. Her handler will need to have firm boundaries and structure to set her up for success as well as be able to provide ample opportunities every day for mental and physical stimulation. When she is provided with plenty of tasks, she has an wonderful off switch and is a joy to be around. With her intelligence, high trainability, desire to learn, and athleticism, she may make enjoy rally or agility.
