Little Paul is the perfect companion to keep you smiling. He would be the perfect fit for a laid-back home. If he were a human, Paul would be a professional couch warmer or competitive eater – he’s always up for a nap or a snack. He can be a little shy and will need someone who can continue to reassure him that he is right where he needs to be.
Paul is lovely around all people, including older children. He has done well with calmer dogs, both large and small. He will bark at dogs if he is confined and has been known to chase dogs that might run past him. Paul rides well in the car, was loved by all at the veterinarian’s office, and responds well to verbal correction. He is fully crate trained, is working on recall, and he is becoming more comfortable with being picked up. Paul likes gentle affection but isn’t always the most snuggly – he prefers to set his own agenda!
Given his age and size, Paul would be best suited for a quiet home with only smaller dogs. Though he is comfortable around large dogs, he is small enough to be injured by them if he is stepped on. He will need a home with few stairs or will need to be carried. Paul is ready for full retirement: a comfy bed, lots of treats, and a soft place to land.
West Coast adoptions only, HOWEVER, if application is strong we may consider placement in other Western US states.
Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview. If that goes well, we will arrange for a home visit.
Adoption Donation: $300.00
Transport along Interstate 5 (Bakersfield, CA to Bellingham, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.
For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
