While he may be built like a tank, his heart is even bigger. When he’s not playing with toys or chasing his tail, his favorite thing to do is be with his people. Panzer will make you laugh when he pretends he can fit in your lap for cuddles. Given the chance to settle in, this sweet and lovable boy has shown he is also quite energetic, curious, and intelligent. He is always interested to know what you’re doing and absorbs everything he is taught. Given proper reinforcement and a sense of security, his confidence really started to blossom.
Panzer is crate trained, potty-trained, rides well in the car, and is well-mannered at the vet’s office. Loud noises may startle him initially, but he recovers quickly and is then curious and investigative. Can be weary/scared of strange dogs barking at him, but has not shown any reactivity. Panzer has mastered basic and some intermediate skills and continues to work on proficiency in some skills. He is eager to please and very responsive to verbal correction.
Panzers reaction to adults outside the home ranges from being very friendly to indifferent, same with kids. When meeting new dogs, he has shown some aversion and caution towards them if not given a proper introduction. However, he has never been reactive and does not bark or care about other dogs when on walks. He shares toys very well, loves to run and chase, and engage in a good game of tug of war with his canine friends. He does have moderate prey drive so a home free of cats, small dogs, and smaller livestock is required.
Panzer would love a family who would play fetch or hide and seek with his ball as he is extremely determined to find it and pays no mind to any potential obstacles in his way. His ideal home would provide plenty of space to freely run and play to burn off his puppy energy. His new family should be prepared to provide plenty of boundaries and structure as he thrives on a routine. Panzer would be thrilled if his new family included him in as many adventures as possible since he adores being with his people so much. This gentle giant would be a great partner for hiking, camping, nosework, and movie nights cuddled on the couch.
