Nya is an extremely easygoing, calm, and loving young lady.  She is drama-free, very adaptable, has rock-solid nerves, and could possibly be the best sidekick you could ever ask for.  If you are the work-from-home type, she is content to just chill next to you while you sit through another Zoom meeting that could have been an email.

If Nya was a human her foster thinks that she would be a great ball person for tennis tournaments, or she could also fill the shoes of any profession where helping people is involved as she loves being around people and caring for them.  We think that she could also possibly be a therapy dog for children's hospitals or assisted living homes with her calm demeanor and levelheadedness.  So far, she has been able to be taken anywhere her foster has wanted to go such as coffee shops, stores, parks, you name it.

Nya was friendly at the vet’s office and was able to be handled by all the staff there.  She shows no aversion to loud noises and is friendly to visitors in the home as well.  When other dogs approach, she will usually go past them without any issues, mostly she is curious about them but always reengages with her person before wanting to play.  Her foster has another dog that Nya is tolerant of, and she has shown some interest in the neighborhood cat and squirrels but has shown that her person is more important than chasing them.  Legitimately her #1 thing in the whole world is her person.  #ThisIsMyPersonThereAreManyLikeItButThisOneIsMine

Nya is super easy to train as there are a ton of things that motivate her such as food, toys (rubber balls), and praise.  She does best with verbal corrections and gentle leash pressure.  Overall, she is a very compliant dog that just needs to have set boundaries and once she has those all she wants to do is make her person happy.  This young lady has lovely house manners but is still a young dog that can get into some mischief if allowed.  Some of the skills that Nya has learned and mastered during her time in foster care are no jumping on the bed or sofa, not charging through doors or downstairs, sitting and waiting for release at doorways, loose leash walking, heel, and great handler engagement.  She is still working on some advanced obedience in public places, but she is doing great!

Nya is looking for her forever home that would involve her in the daily life of the home and the humans in it.  She would enjoy a quiet but active home that could throw the ball for some fetch from time to time, a good walking companion, and a place to be the best dog that she can be.  She could be in a multiple-dog home, but this girl deserves all the attention in the world so possibly being the only dog home that allows her to shine is fine too. So, if you are looking for the most chill dog on the planet look no further than Nya.

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview. If that goes well, we will arrange for a home visit.

Adoption Donation: $500.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Rowland Heights, CA to Edmonds, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.

Thank you for visiting The Woof Project!
