~DOB: 7/1/2021
Weight: 65 lbs
Energy level: Moderate
Overall drive: Low
Location: Hermiston, OR
Well hello there, my name is Newman and I am quite an interesting fellow. Some might say, “ Look at that long-haired Malinois”. Others might say “Newman looks like a Laekenois”. Well, guess what folks I am neither! I am just a regular ol’ German Shepherd in a scruffy, long-haired malinois-lookin’ costume!
Newman might just be the best dog ever! His foster says that 24/7 he is a happy and easygoing guy. He loves a good walk around the neighborhood, romp in the yard, and sometimes a solid cuddle session on the couch. #NewThingsForNewman Additionally, if Newman had a human job like most of us his foster thinks that he would make the best greeter at Walmart due to his larger-than-life personality and zest for making new friends with everything living thing he sees. Newman makes a great wingman for your household vacuum cleaner as there is no need for a 5-second rule if he is around since he is a 3-second dog. #IfYouAintFirstYoureLast
This guy is crate-trained and sleeps in it quietly overnight. First thing in the morning he likes to enjoy some good old-fashioned human hugs and belly rubs to get his day off on the right foot. No matter what, he will assist you in anything you may or may not need help doing throughout your day. Headed to the bathroom? Newman can assist. Want to cook a fancy meal in the kitchen? Newman will help! If you ever need him, he is only an arm's reach away. During his foster stay he has attempted multiple times to make friends with the resident cat, we will say it is still a work in progress. #CatWontWarmUp He loves visitors to the home regardless of size, age, amount of fur, etc. #EqualOpportunityFriendo
Newman loves riding in the car crated or in the back seat with his seatbelt buckled. At the vet’s office, he did great and everyone loved him. He will bark at loud noises but they do not frighten him at all. One thing that he does that his foster thinks is slightly odd is that he does not like stairs, he will go down them to play but that is where he draws the line. He is still a young guy that needs some polishing as he has put ventilation holes in a couple of dog beds while unsupervised and pulls like a freight train on a leash from time to time. If you leave something on the counter, Newman will dispose of it with just haste. #FluffyGarbageDisposal
Newman has all the telltale signs of being an amazing dog with just a little bit of work. He is hoping his forever home has another dog to play with and a fenced yard to zoom around in as well. Since he is so friendly we think that he could live in nearly any home environment, since he is aloof to his size possibly a home with older kids that can hold their own as little ones might get knocked over by this fuzzball. If you are thinking of adding a dog to your life, consider Newman and apply!
