Mizo is friendly, fun, eager to please, endearing and playful – the perfect partner for life’s adventures. He is very interactive and is always ready for whatever the day might bring. It’s hard to stay on the couch with Mizo around; he’s the friend who wags his tail and says, “let’s go do something fun!”

Mizo has been friendly to almost everyone he’s met, human and dog alike. He can be a little cautious meeting new people, but he warms up quickly with proper introductions. Mizo has played appropriately with the other dog in his foster home, and he is affectionate and cuddly with his people. He will require continued work on desensitization and socialization and will need someone who will continue to build his confidence as he grows. Mizo has been a little nervous in the car but rides well, has done well at the veterinarian’s office, and is calm around loud noises. Due to his prey drive, Mizo cannot share his forever home with cats. He responds well to calm and consistent correction and has great house manners as long as he is supervised and redirected if he tries to chew something inappropriately. He has mastered basic obedience and is fully crate trained.

Mizo would flourish in a home with people who want an interactive dog and that have time to spend with him. He has really enjoyed learning agility in his foster home, and would be a great match for someone looking for the perfect agility or nosework partner. He may enjoy sharing his home with another playful dog. With the right handler, this boy will continue to sparkle – and we can’t wait to see how bright he shines!

West Coast adoptions only, HOWEVER, if application is strong we may consider placement in other Western US states.

Must have previous or current, purebred Malinois experience OR other high drive working breed experience. Have no children under the age of 5 years old OR have extensive experience with children and high drive dogs.

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview. If that goes well, we will arrange for a home visit.

Adoption Donation: $500.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Bakersfield, CA to Bellingham, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
