ABOUT MINT JULEP

Age: 6 months

Weight: 40lbs

Gender: Female

Energy Level: High

Overall Drive: Moderate

Location: Novato, CA

No need to wait for the Kentucky Derby, Mint Julep is ready for you right now! Her foster family describes her as the most athletic and coordinated puppy they’ve ever met, and she is eager to show you what she’s got. She is levelheaded, easy to train, and very active.

Julep is environmentally confident. She trusts her body and herself, leaping and climbing on everything around her. She is also very affectionate and will crawl right into your lap for a snuggle once she’s gotten to know you. Julep needs some time to warm up to strangers, but then makes friends with everyone she meets. She will need careful, controlled introductions to new people and places. Julep is learning to ignore dogs and people when out on-leash. She loves other dogs and has nice play skills with other well-tempered dogs. Julep lives with a cat in foster and has given chase but is no threat; with some boundaries and mindful training she will learn to coexist with cats more peacefully. She would do best in a home with no children. She rides well in the car, handles loud noises well, and responds well to verbal correction. Julep is fully crate trained, has mastered basic obedience, and is working on leash skills.

Julep will do best with someone who is interested in being active with her. Given her energy level, confidence, and engagement, she would excel in an active sport such as agility or flyball. Julep will require daily exercise and is a dog who loves to think, so engaging her mind as well as her body is a must. Overall, Julep is just looking for that perfect partner who will help her continue to blossom and grow. In return, you’ll receive all of her affection, playfulness, and love.

West Coast adoptions only, HOWEVER, if application is strong we may consider placement in other Western US states.

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview. If that goes well, we will arrange for a home visit.

Adoption Donation: $500.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Bakersfield, CA to Bellingham, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
