Margarita is a dog that’s up for anything, as long as you’re there with her! She wants to be with you whenever she can, whether that means napping on her dog bed in the same room or out on a daily walk. Margarita is currently working on losing some (well, a lot) weight so she can be as active as she should be.

Margarita is a confident dog that will investigate almost anything without fear. She has encountered bikes, adults, children, and all sorts of other distractions when out on walks and has remained neutral to almost everything. Margarita plays well with dogs as long as there are no high-value resources around such as toys or food. She would likely do best with male dogs of a similar size, but would also thrive as the only dog in her household. She rides well in the car, hasn’t reacted to loud noises, and likely would do well at the veterinarian’s office given her friendly personality. Margarita is motivated by food and praise and has reacted well to moderate correction when away from high-value resources. She will require a handler willing to continue working with her dog reactivity, but she is easily manageable with correction. Margarita is fully crate trained, has good house manners, and has mastered basic obedience.

Margarita requires a home that will provide her with the opportunity for moderate levels of daily exercise. Once she has built up her fitness, she might enjoy short runs with her handler. She would do well in a home with frequent visitors as she loves human attention. Margarita may do well with another playful, non-toy driven male dog but will need slow and careful introductions and continued work on her resource-guarding. Her food motivation makes her an ideal candidate for learning tricks or participating in Competitive Obedience should her handler be interested. The perfect mix of salty and sweet, Margarita is ready for her debut!
