Good grief, it’s your new best friend – Linus! This high-drive boy loves work, swimming, and hiking and can’t wait to find out what adventures await him with his forever family. He is very handler-focused, affectionate, and sweet. He is up for almost anything as long as he can hold a toy in his mouth and be with a canine playmate or his handler.

Linus is very alert and engaged with everything around him. He will sometimes bark at various stimuli when out on walks but won’t pull on the leash or react otherwise. He is learning to control his excitement (jumping) when meeting new people. He has done well out in public and will stay in a down-stay when asked even when around other dogs, people, and loud noises until his handler releases him. Linus rides well in the car, is very confident at the veterinarian’s office (though may need some extra work beforehand to ensure his energy level is low) and will need a home without cats due to his high prey drive. Praise from his person is the way to motivate Linus, although he won’t turn down his toy or some treats! He is currently working on staying calm in his kennel during the day and has mastered basic obedience. Linus will counter surf when left to his own devices but is learning to respect boundaries when asked.

Linus would do best in a home where he would have plenty of opportunity to work; he has the drive and energy to excel in tracking, search and rescue, agility, or nose work. He enjoys spending time with his handler and other humans and would love a family who would take him along on car rides, hikes, walks, or other activities. This special boy can’t wait to explore life with you!

West Coast adoptions only, HOWEVER, if application is strong we may consider placement in other Western US states.

Must have previous or current, purebred Malinois experience OR other high drive working breed experience. Have no children under the age of 12 years old OR have extensive experience with children and high drive dogs.

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview. If that goes well, we will arrange for a home visit.

Adoption Donation: $400.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Bakersfield, CA to Bellingham, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
