Krill is high-drive and highly affectionate, the perfect combination for a fun partner in crime. He is happy just to be with you and will look to his handler for guidance and structure. With clear instruction and gentle leadership, Krill is putty in your hands. He loves to play with any toys, especially with his tug – and is content to spend his days cuddling in his handler’s lap after spending the day being active.

Krill is, above all, eager to please. He will need a handler with experience and patience who can give him clear direction and take the time needed as he matures and grows. Krill is intelligent and engaged and since being in foster is now very friendly when out in public and will even accept affection from strangers who are introduced to him. He does well with other dogs, but his over-exuberance can be too much for some and he will need to be supervised during play sessions and verbally corrected. Krill loves rides in the car in his crate, does well at the veterinarian’s office as long as his handler provides guidance, and reacts to loud noises with interest. As previously mentioned, he is still learning boundaries and will need consistent structure from his new family. He is working on avoiding counter surfing, pulling when on-leash, and will usually redirect well to his toys if caught using his energy to dig or be destructive. Krill will need a solid, tall fence, as he has been known to try to explore beyond the confines of his yard. He has mastered basic obedience and is currently working on more advanced commands such as pivoting, retrieving, and placing.

Above all, Krill would like a home with an active handler who might be interested in activities such as nose work or tracking. He loves connecting with his person, and these activities would provide a great avenue to build relationships. Krill would likely thrive in a calm environment with consistent direction that can handle the controlled chaos of a young, high-drive dog. He would also enjoy hiking or other outdoor activities if his new family was interested. He has his enthusiasm ready for his forever partner – jump on in and find your forever friend in Krill!
