ABOUT KILLIAN

DOB: ~03/01/2021

Weight: 62lbs

Energy Level: Moderate

Overall Drive: High

Location: Mount Vernon, WA

Killian hasn’t met another person or another dog that he doesn’t like.  He warms up easily to strangers and just wants to be pet and admired.  Killian would love to join you with any activities you choose to do, hiking, running, anything that he can be active doing with you.  Killian will have you laughing your head off when his goofball side comes out and he races full speed showing off the pure joy he has for life.

Killian is always interested in meeting other dogs, and he loves his foster siblings and any opportunity to play with them as often as possible. He did a great job just trying to fit into the pack when he first arrived to his foster home and never displayed any leash reactivity.

Killian LOVES to work and would enjoy doing work all day long.  He works for his meals through training drills, has intermittent work sessions during the day when out of his crate, and loves to work when out exploring his foster’s property during pack walks. His new owner should be skilled in managing a higher energy and drive dog and willing to set and enforce clear boundaries and structure.

Killian is potty trained, crate trained, loves car rides, is well-mannered at the vets’ office, and while he is mostly unphased by loud noises; he is not a fan of fireworks. He has mastered all of his basic and intermediate skills and is most motivated by food and praise, either together or separately.  Mild leash pressure and calm verbal corrections are sufficient to redirect unwanted behaviors.

Killian is looking for an active and skilled home to continue his training, help him build confidence, and set him up for success through firm, yet fair direction. He would enjoy having a neutral sibling or 2 of similar size to run and play with. With his desire to please and strong work ethic paired with his energy and drive, he could be a wonderful option for barn hunt, agility, or tracking.
