Keno is everything you could want from a Malinois with the added bonus of being an affectionate lap dog. He is playful and eager to please and will always make you laugh. If he were a human, Keno would volunteer with Search and Rescue: he is always quick to alert people of anything unexpected, will protect his person from any perceived dangers, and is willing to go the extra mile to make sure everyone is happy and safe.

You’ll never have to look for Keno as he always stays within reach. Flexible and playful, Keno is content to lay at your feet while you work but also always ready to go for a run, walk, or hike. He has impeccable house manners and respects boundaries. Keno does need some additional work with socialization and will require slow, controlled introductions to both dogs and people. He will need a confident and experienced handler who is able to set and enforce boundaries and remind Keno what behavior is appropriate when outside of his home. He will need a home without children or small animals. Keno rides well in the car, has done well at the veterinarian’s office, and isn’t fearful of loud noises. He has mastered basic obedience and is currently working on improving his impulse control. Keno is fully crate trained, however doesn’t spend much time in his crate in his foster home.

Keno would do best in a calm home as he can become overstimulated with too much activity. He likes to spend as much time as possible with his people and loves the opportunity for plenty of exercise. Keno may do well in a focused activity such as barn hunt or nosework as he loves search games and has a great nose. This total package Malinois is ready to wow you!

West Coast adoptions only, HOWEVER, if application is strong we may consider placement in other Western US states.

Must have previous or current, purebred Malinois experience OR other high drive working breed experience. Have no children under the age of 12 years old OR have extensive experience with children and high drive dogs.

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview. If that goes well, we will arrange for a home visit.

Adoption Donation: $500.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Bakersfield, CA to Bellingham, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.

Thank you for visiting The Woof Project!
