Are you looking for a personal assistant? How about one that won’t hurt your wallet even though they’ll NEVER leave your side? Meet Jethro! He will always be there and ready to help– as much as he can without opposable thumbs; and all he asks in return is love, affection, and especially cuddles!

Besides being affordable, this boy is eager to please MORE than any other potential candidate WITH opposable thumbs! He is up for anything, but does show some anxiety in new environments (who doesn’t though?). He loves people of all sizes and can politely interact with other dogs, but he should be supervised around kids and dogs as he is clumsy, unaware of his body, and he may fixate on particular dogs.

Jethro is also rambunctious and bouncy! These may not be the sort of traits you want in a personal assistant, but it’s just how he shows his bursting enthusiasm! He is motivated by everything–praise, treats, playing, toys, but particularly loves balls! He does counter-surf, but he’s still learning he’s not human (hence his application as a personal assistant), but he responds well to minimal correction; otherwise, he is not destructive and he is potty trained. He is also crate-trained, but he will be stubborn about entering his crate which should be an Impact crate. He does know his basic obedience but some of the verbal commands are not standard.

Jethro’s ideal home would be an active pet home as he may not have the drive for a competitive sport home. Nonetheless, he would love to try dock diving, barn hunt, and competition obedience with his human! It is best if he lived without other dogs unless they will be separated most of the time and any kids in the home should be older and dog-savvy.

West Coast adoptions only, HOWEVER, if application is strong we may consider placement in other Western US states.

Our adoption process includes- completion of an application, followed by a telephone interview.

Adoption Donation: $500.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Bakersfield, CA to Bellingham, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
