Hitchcock or Hitch for short is a floppy-eared mix fella that ended up in with the Woof Project through no fault of his own. He is just a large ball of love that is looking for his “people” and a place to call his forever home. 

​

Hitch can be a very large rambunctious ball of energy, but once he gets it out of his system he will just chill at your feet and watch the day go by.  There is not much more in life that Hitch loves more than water.  Turn the hose on and Hitch shows up like it is the dinner bell on a chuck wagon. He loves to play in the water, matter of fact he might be part harbor seal for all we know.  Hitch will dance in the water hose, try to bite/eat the water, and love the hose spigot on the side of the house.  Additionally, when out and about he has some sort of super sniffer smelling power #SuperNose, he wants to smell and sniff everything that he comes across.  He is extremely curious and is astonished by all of the new things the world has to offer #ChildLikeWonders.

During his time at his foster’s house, he has mastered the following commands, Sit, Wait, and No. Other commands he has been working diligently to master are Come and Down. Hitch has been exposed to many different places and people since he has been in foster care.  He loves kids, all kids big and small as long as they are respectful.  Also, he is fine with other dogs and would probably like an older dog in the home who he can pick up some house manners and social etiquette from.  For training his foster home has noticed that he is extremely food motivated, not aggressive just loves a tasty treat for doing a good job #HungryHungryHippoHitch.

While Hitch is still a puppy regardless of his size there are some things that still need to be worked on.  Due to his height he is about counter level in most homes, he has not shown any signs of counter surfing but his curiosity is often curtailed with a stern ‘No”.  He is not a fan of sharing his toys or water bowl, nor does he like to have his collar pulled on.  Most of this has been remedied with the use of an E-collar for nipping habits like this in the bud.  He is a very smart young man and catches on to training very quickly.

So, if you are looking for a running partner with a child-like enthusiasm for life and who can be molded like clay to be the perfect dog you have always been wanting.  Hitch is your guy!

Woof dogs will only be adopted into homes in the following states: WA, OR, CA, ID, UT, MT, AZ.

 

Must have previous or current, large breed experience OR other high drive working breed experience. Have no children under the age of 12 years old OR have extensive experience with children and large breed dogs.

​

Our adoption process includes the completion of an application followed by a telephone interview.

 

Adoption Donation: $500.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Bakersfield, CA to Edmonds, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.
