Harper

~DOB: 9/1/2023

Weight: 60lbs

Energy Level: Moderate

Overall Drive: Low

Location: North Bend, WA

Harper wants to be your best girlfriend, she will help you around the house, is ready for a mani/pedi at the drop of a hat and will be there for you whenever you need her!  She is a very polite and sweet young lady who is ready for life on her own after becoming a young mom. #TeenageMomma

If Harper were a human her foster family thinks that she would make a great police officer who only administers breathalyzer tests at DUI checkpoints, since she is very “nose” oriented.  She could also be the lady on the Nextdoor app or your community Facebook page being nosey with the neighbors.  #ThoseWereFireworksNotGunShots  Harper has just started to play with the resident Lab, which is nice to see her coming out of her “momma” shell and getting a little bit of playing in.  It has been noted that she has some separation anxiety when left alone, but it is getting better with her “boredom buddy” aka resident Lab helping out with her FOMO.  This lady is not much of a snuggler yet but does enjoy being close to her people.

Harper rides well in the car and is well-mannered at the vet’s office. Loud noises do not bother her at all, she honestly couldn't care less about them.  Her attitude and demeanor have changed a few times since she arrived in foster care when she first got there and was still pregnant, she was extremely sweet.  After she had her puppies she went into full momma bear mode and didn’t want anyone around them at all.  #LeaveTheFoodAtTheDoor  Since her puppies have all flown the coop, she has quickly returned to her old, pre-momma personality.

During Harper’s time in foster, she has mastered Off, Paws Up, and Wait commands. She is still working on Sit, Down, and Come commands to become part of her vocabulary.  During training, Harper works best on light praise and food for training aides.  Her future person needs to have patience and a soft hand as Harper is a sensitive girl.  She is completely house-trained and will whine or bark if she needs to go outside.  There are some things in the house that still need some work though, such as counter surfing (girl stays hungry) and not being bored (leads to digging).

Harper is on the lookout for her forever home now that she is over being a teenage momma.  Her forever home will need to continue her training and give her time to acclimate to her new life in order to be a successful young lady.  Somewhere where she can be a house dog and curl up in front of a fire while watching a Hallmark movie is where Harper would like to be for the new year, can you help her dream come true?
